who we are

A partnership founded at the local rec pool in Brooklyn, taken on the road across the country to the Northern California coast. We're two triathletes with a tendency to have too much fun doing what we love.

This team member brings their delightful personality and professional experience with them everyday they come in to work. It’s hard to imagine where we’d be without our trusted Customer Service Representative.

Miguel Mattox

the rubberband man

As a Northern California native, Miguel was quickly introduced to the power and natural beauty of Mother Nature. With the encouragement of two wildly athletic parents, he grew up playing every outdoor activity he could get his hands on: swimming, surfing, baseball, soccer, basketball, hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. After over a decade of trial and error, he landed on year-round swimming, which earned him a Division I scholarship to Fordham University. As a senior, he served as Team Captain, helped the squad to its best conference finish in school history, set multiple school records, and capped off the athletic foundation that would eventually serve him in the world of triathlon.

Throughout his academic years, Miguel was always drawn to documentary filmmaking. This journey began in high school, continued through college with Fordham's athletic department, and eventually to the inception of Freestyle Tri; passion turned profession.

In his spare time, Miguel makes oatmeal, explores backcountries, surfs the local breaks, and spends time with his family.

Although athlete comparisons can be detrimental to your own progress, we believe activity transparency can be a very powerful tool. If we track a workout for ourselves, we'll share it on Strava for you to [hopefully] learn from.
